Location

The Hotel Apollo is located in the heart of Rome, on Via dei Serpenti 109, close to all amenities and services as well as some of the best shopping ground in the city.  Hotel Apollo guests have easy access to the public transport system with the metro line and Via Nazionale and Via Cavour very close by.  On Via dei Serpenti you will find various interesting shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and ice cream parlours.

Rome’s central train station, Stazione Centrale - Roma Termini, is about 10 minutes away on foot and there are regular connections to all the major Italian towns and cities.  The closest metro stop is Cavour which is only one stop away on the B line in direction Laurentina.  The city’s extensive over-ground transport system passes close to the hotel too; the main bus routes terminate in Piazza dei Cinquecento while trams dissect Via Principe Amadeo terminating on Via Amendola

Esquilino is the name of the area south of Stazione Termini and north of the Colosseum. The Hotel Apollo lies in between these important landmarks. Of Rome’s famous seven hills, the Esquiline Hill is the largest. Via Cavour is the main traffic artery which connects Stazione Termini to the famous Fori Imperiali. If this seems like too much effort just hop on the metro or one of the many buses that frequently pass by.

A major sight in the surrounding area is the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, one of Rome’s four patriarchal basilicas (along with St Peter’s, St Paul’s and San Giovanni in Laterano).

How to Get Here

By Car By Car:  Heading to Rome from the A1 Highway take the Roma Nord exit and join the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare - Rome’s ring road). Exit at Flaminio. Follow directions towards Termini railway station.  From the front of Termini Station follow Via L Einaudi and turn left along Via Nazionale.  About 800 metres along Via Nazionale turn right down Via dei Serpenti.

By Train By Train:  On disembarking from your train head towards the left hand side of the station.  Heading Northwest along Via Giovanni Giolitti you will see Via Cavour which leads downhill towards the Imperial Forums.  Via de Serpenti dissects Via Cavour about 800 metres downhill.

By Plane By Plane: Regular trains run from Fiumicino Airport to Termini Train Station daily from 6:37 to 11:37pm.  Trains generally leave every 30 minutes. Various companies run coach services from Ciampino Airport to Termini Train Station. For a more economic but time consuming journey take the bus from Ciampino to Anagnina metro station (Line A).
